Other than some of the nurses being decent one would kept calling me names when no one was around that's I'm nasty man . They kept me alive but my dignity was lost. Don't go here try your luck with Arlington or Everett hospitals at least they'll treat you with respect
Horrible care. Took over an hour to have a nurse assigned to my room after I saw the doctor. Which means the medication he prescribed was not given. The ER was not busy the nurses we chatting with each other in the nurse station about thier shifts and plans for the weekend. Took 30 minutes to get a blanket. Whole experience was horrible.
A night spent in the ER with family member in extreme pain was met with a doctor only addressing his assessment to his scribe, an antagonistic, nasty nurse who would rather tell us how lucky we are to be admitted in only 4 hours instead administering medication she waved around, a belittling, leading-question hospitalist who was incorrectly informed of situation and didn't appear to perform chart review prior to entering the room. overall frustration, witnessing dangerous lack of documentation and unbelievable void of empathy. Go the extra half hour to providence.
I have to say I had a fantastic experience at this small, local hospital. I was on Camano Island, far away from home when I became disoriented and confused. My wife called an ambulance and they took me to Skagit Valley Hospital. The doctors moved quickly to determine whether or not I had had a stroke (turned out I hadn't, luckily) and then ruled out other serious causes with MRI and CTScan. They consulted with a neuro specialist in Seattle. The doctors were attentive and meticulous, the nurses were friendly and helpful, facilities were clean and less institutional than many.
I am writing this from Room 250-1 of SVH. I just received 3 days of generally excellent care. Every visit from a caregiver up and down the ranks was respectful and polite and ended with a question such as "Is there anything else I can get you" or Do you have any other questions?" I know this hospital suffered from bad public perception in the past. I believe it is now on an upward path. It deserves our support even when it means addressing problems.
